Course Description
This immersive 9-module course takes learners on a guided journey through the history, craft, and culture of whiskey. Blending rich storytelling with hands-on tasting experiences, it equips students with the knowledge to confidently explore different whiskey styles, evaluate their qualities, and appreciate their unique heritage. Whether you’re a curious beginner or a developing enthusiast, this course will deepen your understanding and sharpen your palate.

Learning Experience
Across nine progressive modules, students will:

  • Explore the origins and global development of whiskey.
  • Understand the fundamentals of production, from grains to cask maturation.
  • Learn structured tasting techniques and how to evaluate aroma, flavor, and finish.
  • Compare six iconic whiskey styles through guided tasting samples.
  • Discover how food pairing enhances whiskey appreciation.
  • Explore distinctive traditions such as Irish smoothness, smoky Islay peat, bold American bourbons, and delicate Japanese craftsmanship.
  • Experiment with innovation, blending, and contemporary whiskey trends.

Tasting Journey
The course includes guided tastings of eight whiskey styles, each selected to highlight contrasting traditions and flavor profiles:

  • Irish Whiskey – smooth and approachable, a perfect foundation.
  • Single Malt Scotch – complex malt character from Scotland’s heritage.
  • Bourbon – rich, sweet, and bold with vanilla and oak notes.
  • Japanese Whisky – elegant, refined, and harmoniously balanced.
  • Rye Whiskey – spicy and peppery, ideal for food pairing.
  • Peated Scotch – smoky, earthy, and unforgettable.
  • Australian Whisky – bold, innovative and complex.
  • Sherry Cask Infused Single Malt – luscious, spiced and elegant.
